Roh Moo Hyun former President of South Korea passed away

Roh was born on August 6, 1946 in Gimhae, near Busan, in southeastern South Korea, he studied on his own, and became regional judge at Daejeon in 1977.

Before entering politics, Roh was actively engaged in defending human rights in South Korea. He was elected to the national assembly in 1988 and served on the special committee investigating government corruption. Elected a second time in 1998, he subsequently served (2000–2001) as maritime affairs and fisheries minister under President Kim Dae Jung.Running as the Millenium Democratic Party candidate, he was elected president in 2002.

Roh pursued a policy of engagement toward the DPRK (North Korea), and in 2007 he traveled to Pyongyang, and met there with Kim Jong Il the leader of North Korea in a second historic summit between the leaders of North and South Korea. Roh Mu Hyun left office in 2008, he died under tragic cir*****stance on May 23 2009, he was laid to rest on May 29, thousands of South Koreans paid tribute to him.

The unofficial website about Kim Jong Il was recently launched by the Algerian branch of the KFA.

AKFA Refutes the Sophistry of Some News Media

Al Jazeera published on its website a report about the DPRK, providing an overview about the political, economic, and social situation in the DPRK during the cold war era and the post collapse of the eastern block, as well as the post September 11. The report cites that the former events did not affect the DPRK nor it changed its policies, and calling the DPRK as “another planet” it also describes among other things: energy shortages, the “isolation of the country” from the outside world. The reporter elaborated on how it was difficult to get the entry visa to the DPRK and that it was the case for any journalist wanting to visit the DPRK.

AKFA Supports the Statement of the DPRK Foreign Ministry on the �UN Security Council Resolution�

While the UN Security Council failed to act when and where it should act, it is been used to implement the vicious policies of the big powers and to frustrate independent countries who stick to their sovereignty and refuse to be dominated by foreign hostile forces.
