It also cited that in spite of economic hardships and energy shortages that became even more critical since the UNSC approved further sanctions on the DPRK in its resolution 1718, the statues that symbolize the revolution and socialism are still lit in public places, as the authorities regard them a national necessity, and thus putting the burden of economic hardships only on the shoulders of the population.
Finally the report that was published on the website of Al Jazeera concludes that the DPRK succeeded to get a deal from the US, referring to the agreement of the third phase of round five of the six-party talk, signed on February this year.
In light of the above said in that report, the Algeria-KFA gives the following response to Al Jazeera:
The DPRK system is based on the Juche idea, a progressive idea centred on the popular masses, and the fact that it is still the guiding ideology in all aspects of political and social life in the DPRK attests to its validity and scientific accuracy; despite the fact that socialism experienced a setback in the 1990s while many former socialist regimes reneged on their principles after frustrating socialism from inside and collapsing it in their countries, the DPRK in such unfavourable international circumstances has never doubted on its system and never ceased to believe on it, and continued to follow the path of the Juche idea without the slightest deviation, this has been established further as an evidence since the arduous march.
Presenting economic difficulties of the DPRK as the product of “invalidity of the ideals of its system”, “incompetence of its leadership”, and “substantial military expenditures”, is nothing but a sophistry designed to tarnish the image of the DPRK, since its foundation the DPRK did not spare the slightest effort into building a modern and prosperous nation for the benefit of its people, a nation that was built from the ruins left by the barbarian Japanese rule and a devastating war waged by the biggest war force in the world backed by 15 satellite countries. Improving people’s life standard has been and remains an utmost priority of the leadership of the DPRK; economic hardships are the result of US designed international sanctions and blockade on the DPRK, a hostile policy aimed at suffocating the DPRK and bringing it to collapse, a policy pursued and combined with military might by the US imperialists and allied forces of imperialists in other parts of the world, and which resulted in frustrating many independent nations, pursuant to the US wild ambition for global domination
Those who think that economic problems could be solved through foreign aid and those who consider building a self defensive capacity an extravagance, should look at the Iraqi experience, a nation rich of natural resources whose people live in poverty under a daily chaos and bloodshed, is plundered by oil mafia corporations and mercenaries, exploiting the blood and sweat of the Iraqi people.
Nations can only stand by their own efforts, the imperialists always take more than they give and never deliver what they promise.
Al Jazeera as a prominent Arab media and in moment when many Arab countries are occupied by foreign forces and dominated by the US, should present the very truth about the DPRK, a nation that foiled the imperialists machinations and smashed all US moves of aggression and interference safeguarding the sovereignty and dignity by the precious Songun (military first politics) sword.
The diplomatic achievements made during the last round of talks came as result of the DPRK bold and do-or-die resistance to the US imperialists aggressors, not by yielding to their vicious rackets.
As for the difficulties and delays of getting the entry visa to the DPRK, it is useful to note that thousands of foreign delegations and personalities visit the DPRK every year including journalists, and they all enjoy the hospitality of the Korean people, doors of the DPRK are widely open to all foreign guests that want to visit it for whatever business, but they remain firmly close to those who have a sinister intention.
Al Jazeera along with other news media are urged to be neutral in their coverage and not to distort the facts about the DPRK.
